Obasanjo consoles AfDB President Adesina over the death of his mother

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has sent a message of condolence to Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group on the passing of his mother, Mrs. Eunice Olaperi Folasade Adesina.

In the condolence letter which he personally signed, Obasanjo expressed his sadness at the passing of Chief Mrs. Adesina, stating that she lived a life of lessons, hard work and devotion to her family, the Church of Christ and its community in the field of education and business.

The former president said the late Mrs. Adesina was a mother in a million and the proof of her motherhood is well reflected in her children and daughters-in-law.

Obasanjo wrote: "It is with sadness that I received the death of Mom, Chief Mrs. Eunice Olaperi Folasade Adesina, on 22nd December 2022, at the age of 92. In my name and that of my family, please accept our deepest condolences and prayers as you go through the permanence of his absence.

"The loss of a mother is never an easy moment to bear. You should be comforted, however, for she lived a life of lessons, hard work, and devotion to her family, the Church of Christ, and her community in education and business. But to do so with all that Mom had accomplished in her life with her husband and your father, Chief Roland Folorunso Adesina, of blessed memory, is also an indication of the grace of God multiplied.

"Mom was a one in a million mother and the proof of her motherhood is reflected well in her children and daughters-in-law. I can attest to the fact that her children and you in particular, are men of strong character and great accomplishments in your respective rights. Those of you left behind should be comforted, even as you celebrate her time on earth. Remember that we will all walk this path one day. We must be prepared for what we will remember.

"May God give you and other members of your family the strength and courage to endure his passage and may his sweet soul rest in perfect peace with the Lord".
