Court remands Trinity Guy, minor's parents, for 52 more days

A Family Court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo State has again ordered the removal of a prankster, Maruf Abdullahi, aka Trinity Guy, and parents of a minor to the Agodi Correction Center until August 31, for allegedly sexually exploiting a 10-year-old girl in the state.

PUNCH Metro reported that police invited the prankster in connection with a music video involving a minor and were, alongside the minor's parents, charged with conspiracy and sexual abuse/exploitation.

"Popular content creator, Abdullahi aka Trinity Guy, has been contacted and invited to the State Police Command in relation to the disturbing viral content of the skit that is making the rounds social media space regarding a minor. Further updates will be provided soon,” State Police Public Relations Officer Adewale Osifeso said.

The magistrate, P. O. Adetuyibi, ordered Abdullahi, 31, and the parents of the child, Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and his wife, Rofiat, 29, to continue to be detained in Agodi.

Earlier, prosecution attorney Oluwakemi Arowosaye told the court that the defendants allegedly conspired together to commit sexual abuse, adding: "Trinity on December 17, 2022 allegedly abused and sexually exploited the 10-year-old girl in Kuola area, Ibadan.

Police said the offense breached the provisions of section 35(1) and was punishable under section 35(2) of the Human Rights Act 2006 'child.

She added that this also violated the provisions of Section 516 of the Oyo State Penal Code Acts of 2000.
