Men from the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as the Amotekun Corps, intercepted a truck carrying approximately 151 suspected invaders.

The body has been found to have made the arrest acting on intelligence of the terrorist incursion into southwestern Nigeria.

The suspects included five women, hidden behind bags of beans and rice inside the trailer.

They were intercepted around the Sango area of the Akure-Ado highway by the corps officers while on "stop and search" on Thursday, who grew suspicious of their movement.

Amotekun State Commander Akogun Adetunji Adeleye said the suspects were hidden behind sacks of rice inside the truck.

He said: "We intercepted two trucks carrying 151 people who were cleverly concealed behind sacks of rice and beans so that the number of people stuck in trucks.

“During the interception, we asked for their destinations. Some said Akure while others said Osogbo in Osun State. However, we haven't finished profiling them, as none of them have any idea what they were going to do or what their mission was. All they could tell us was that they entered the vehicle and arrived in Ondo State.

"Searching the vehicles we saw 10 bikes and various dangerous charms. If we check and find nothing on them, as long as they have no one willing to take them in charge in Ondo State, we will send them back to their various states.”

The suspects are said to have traveled from Kastina, Kano and Jigawa states towards the Southwestern states.

"Some of them claimed they were from Kastina, Kano and Jigawa states, but on how they got together, they said they couldn't understand, but that they had been transported by truck to Akure in Ondo State.

"This is however not a good sign, following the security warning in the South West States. While respecting their rights as Nigerians, we do not know why they are here we always believe that while traveling, everyone should have a mission and a destination where he or she is going,” he said.
