Still, the club Welsh are without more than half the side that enjoyed last August's win over Durham at Trent Bridge.

Australian prop Michael Hogan signed up with last year's Hundred winners Southern Brave, while Hamish Rutherford, Nick Selman and Steven Reingold all moved on.

Tom Cullen, meanwhile, was kept out of the way by Chris Cooke, and Lukas Carey disappeared from the radar

But they start their defense against weakened Hundred- Derbyshire with a strong squad available, minus only the injured Michael Neser.
