Oshoala, Ajibade, Kanu and Nnadozie were shortlisted for Women's Player of the Year, while Monday made the shortlist in two categories: Best Young Player of the Year , alongside Flourish Sebastien of Edo Queens, and the continent's best interclubs player, with Maryann Ezenagu of Rivers Angels also nominated.

Monday was named the Nigerian top-flight player of the season and was also the top scorer last season. She was instrumental in the Bayelsa Queens league triumph and their qualification for the 2022 CAF Women's Champions League.

The Women's Player of the Year list is made up of 30 women from 12 countries and South Africa leads the pack with six players.
