The All Progressives Congress and the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party on Saturday accused each other of wanting to wreak havoc in the state.

A statement from the APC signed by its chairman, 'Gboyega Famoodun, had accused the PDP of planning to launch an attack on its witnesses during the court hearing of the petition of the Governor Adegboyega Oyetola against Senator Ademola Adeleke's victory in the last Poll the Governor of July and get them out of town.

The APC also accused the PDP of planning chaos regardless of the court outcome just to make the Oyetola administration look unpopular.

He said some people in the opposition party in the state wanted to use the intra-party crisis within his fold to wreak havoc in the state.

"It is based on the above reasons that we strongly advise knowledgeable members of the public and seek the legal instrumentality of the statutory security apparatus through which the state PDP plan to plunge our state into chaos could be nipped in the bud in the interests of the security of the people,” the APC concluded.

Reacting to the allegations, Acting Osun State PDP Chairman Dr. Akindele Adekunle said the APC had hatched a plot to burn down the state office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Osogbo, specifically targeting the vault where Bimodal Voter Accreditation System machines used for the last Governorate poll were kept.

Odekunle also said that the APC was sounding the alarm of insecurity to force the change of seat of the court sitting in Abuja, as he was afraid of the expected ease of verification and the consequent invalidation of its request to overvote if the court sessions continue in Osogbo.

He also alleged that the APC has concluded plans to halt the continuation of the court session, while it develops a plan to expose the BVAS machines to tampering, if the panel session had to be moved.
