Over 1,900 block-producing nodes in the Solana ecosystem, new report reveals New

Solana released its first-ever "Validator Health Report" which revealed information about its network operators. According to the report, the network has more than 1,900 block-producing nodes, with nearly 1,688 (88.14%) run by independent entities.

Solana asserts that the health and strength of its Validators is critical to the long-term health of the ecosystem. Previously, the network struggled with a lack of decentralization and expensive validation hardware.

Although this new report highlights the 3,400 validators spread across six different continents.

9/ Geographical distribution is important. Resilient blockchains continue to function through all types of global events.

In addition, the report shows how activity on the network has increased over the past year. On average, the network has seen 95 new consensus nodes and 99 RPC nodes join each month since June last year.

He has also pointed out that the Nakamoto coefficient on Solana, i.e. the amount of validator collusion needed to censor the network, is 31 – and growing. A graph published in the report showed that Solana had the highest Nakmoto coefficient compared to other networks such as Avalanche, Binance and Polygon.

However, this report follows last week's hack. About $5.2 million to Solana...
