Paul Merson reacts as Mykhailo Mudryk scores first goal for Chelsea
Former Arsenal striker Paul Merson has hailed Chelsea's Mykhailo Mudryk after the Ukrainian winger scored his first goal for the club.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk winger scored for the Blues in their thrilling 4-3 win over Brighton on Saturday.
The winger moved to Stamford Bridge in January on an eight-year deal from Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 22-year-old failed to impress in the few games he played before the end of the season.
However, Mudyrk's fortunes changed on Saturday when Mauricio Pochettino's side clashed with Brighton in the summer series.
The two teams met in the pre-season friendly tournament in the United States.
Mudryk brilliantly scored his first goal for the Blues after being trapped by Nicolas Jackson in the 65th minute.
Merson hailed Mudryk on Twitter after the latter scored his first goal, saying: "What a goal Mudryk. Perhaps the goal that will launch his Chelsea career."
