The senator representing the South Delta Senatorial District in the National Assembly under the People's Democratic Party platform, Senator James Manager, said Saturday that with the latest events within the state section of the PDP's Delta, the party "is drowning and gradually dying" in the state.

Senator James Manager, one of the PDP gubernatorial aspirants in Delta State ahead of the 2023 general election, made the statement in a signed statement made available to reporters in Warri.< /p>

The statement was in reaction to the judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja disqualifying Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the state.

Senator James Manager said he would "not feign ignorance as the party is drowning and gradually dying".

"If no one sees it, I see it and I also feel it a lot. I would have initiated some pro bono preliminary actions but because I am directly involved as a suitor, I am forced. I want to be extremely careful and careful with suggestions and interventions,” he added.

He urged caution among party loyalists, however, stressing that he would not do anything that would “further exacerbate the problems for the party and the future of the Deltans because Delta is PDP and PDP is Delta.”< /p>

The statement read in part: "I want to respond to a trending story in a section of the media that I have taken legal action against one of the PDP gubernatorial aspirants in Delta State .

"The so-called history sponsored by well-known political peddlers is a cesspool of lies and a dumping ground for journalism from which stories are fabricated against prominent political figures.

"This is another desperate attempt to drag my humble self into the slippery and regrettable and avoidable political quagmire we all find ourselves in today in the Delta PDP.

"I've been in this business of politics for almost 30 years and these incredible insinuations sponsored and peddled in the media by these political wholesalers are not my modus operandi.

"My style on topics like this over the years is different. The story is false and nothing could be further from the truth.

"As the pioneer chairman of the party and by extension the father of the PDP in Delta State, I would do nothing to further aggravate the problems of the party and the future of the Deltans because Delta is PDP and PDP is Delta.

"I am very disturbed by the recent events of today's party. I will not feign ignorance as the party is gradually drowning and dying.

"If no one sees it, I see it and I also feel it a lot. I would have initiated some pro bono preliminary actions but because I am directly involved as a suitor, I am forced. I want to be extremely careful and careful with suggestions and interventions.

“In the future, we must pray to Almighty God and believe in His supremacy. May God not allow those inside and outside of PDP who have all used its platform to acquire the big names they have today to destroy it. May that day never come, AMEN!"
