The PUNCH reports that Obi's media adviser, Valentine Obienyem, on August 10, 2022, assured that his manager's campaign would be issue-based, not personality-based when she would begin.

This is how he noted that the former governor had aligned himself with All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu on a thematic campaign for the 2023 general election.

Obienyem said Tinubu's campaign organization's call for an issue-focused campaign reflected exactly what Obi had propagated over the years.

According to him, if the supporters had been aware of this, some articles published in certain newspapers against Obi would not have been published, including those with offensive titles.

"From Obi's governorship, he was not known for his habit of attacking people or building up lies against others," the statement added.
