Peter Obi: We have original election results – Balami, youth protest in Abuja

A large number of supporters of Labor Party presidential candidate Peter Obi staged a protest in the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday over alleged manipulation of Saturday's election.

Protesters, who are largely young people, converged on Abuja's Fountain of Unity on Wednesday morning to demand the annulment of the allegedly altered presidential election results.

Labour Party national campaign manager Isaac Balami, who spoke to DAILY POST on the grounds of the protest, alleged that party operatives had different results than those announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission , INEC.

He said: "We are here to activate the process of recovering the stolen warrant. We believe and we have it on record that APC did not win this election.

“We have our results. The results they announced are not the results of our agents. We are not here to fight, we are here to tell the world that our mandate has been stolen and we 'let's not sit at home and cry".

Recall that the president of the INEC, Mahmood Yakubu announced Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC winner of the election.

Tinubu polled a total of 8,794,726 to defeat his closest rivals and candidates from the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi from the Labor Party, LP who polled 6,984, 520 and 6,101,533 respectively.
