Pinterest for Web3: Project launches curation ecosystem on Avalanche

CurateDAO has launched an Avalanche-based "curate-to-earn" platform where participants can earn by contributing to databases. Pinterest for Web3: Project launches curation ecosystem on Avalanche New

With play-to-earn (P2E) gaming on the rise in 2021 thanks to Axie Infinity (AXS) and an offshoot called move-to-earn (M2E) gaining notoriety thanks to STEPN (GMT), another variant of the "to win" model is launched with the aim of bringing Web3 elements to existing Web2 frameworks.

In an announcement, the CurateDAO team told Cointelegraph that they have launched a Pinterest-like database platform on the Avalanche (AVAX) blockchain. Similar to other “earnable” models, users can be rewarded with crypto tokens for completing tasks. In this case, the task given to the participants is to contribute their curated lists to the project database.

There are different roles within the project ecosystem. This includes curators, who will create and define the rules of a database, a scout who will find and contribute content that conforms to the rules of the database, and viewers who will participate by viewing the content.

The Curator can be an individual, a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), or an Artificial Intelligence (AI) program like GPT-3. They will earn with scouts as content is purchased by viewers or viewed by watching advertisements.

The team is confident that incentivizing conservation will lead to the collection of high quality data. Michael Fischer, the founder of CurateDAO, said the project will be useful for acquiring user-generated content in a familiar Web2 application way.
