Pobega baffled by Milan's struggles as Serie A plunge continues

Milanese midfielder Tomasso Pobega lamented a missed chance in Serie A against Bologna.

Stefano Pioli's side fell behind with just 33 seconds played, Pobega equalizing five minutes before the break with a thunderous strike.

Despite dominating debates, Milan could not find a winner in the game and dropping points opens the door for rivals Inter and Atalanta in the race for the top four and Champions League qualification.< /p>

Having been held in check, Milan could end the weekend outside the top four and have Test matches to complete the season, including a trip to face Juventus on the final day.

While there has been a lot of attention over the recent two wins over Napoli, domestic form is a huge concern, with Milan having only one solitary victory in their last six Serie A games.< /p>

Pobega is aware that Milan need to fare better in the coming weeks, although he doesn't know why the team are struggling.

"We paid the approach with the game, we made a mistake early on," he told DAZN.

"It's a shame, we lost points and it's not the first time. It hurts. We prepare the matches as best we can, we have to start strong and score goals.

"We are all training well, all strong, we wanted to make an impression today, and that's a shame. We had to be more precise and incisive.”

However, Pobega has refuted the suggestion that Milan paid too much attention to Tuesday's Champions League second leg against Napoli.

"I don't think so, we were focused on this game. We gave so much today, we just have to look at where we went wrong," he replied when asked if it was the case.
