Police arrest woman for kidnapping 3 children

The Borno State Police Command paraded 55 suspects and a woman arrested for allegedly abducting three children – two boys and a girl.

State Commissioner of Police, CP Abdu Umar, who revealed this in Maiduguri during a press briefing on Thursday, said the suspect is a 46-year-old Ensa Esewa, who between the August 5 and 6, abducted 7-year-old Mustapha Abdullahi, 5-year-old Abdullahi Mustapha and 3-year-old Hajara Alassan.

According to CP Umar, the suspect abducted the three children with the intention of taking them to the residence of a Lady B in Lagos who hired her with the sum of five hundred thousand naira.

He said that "the suspect arrested and part of the money given to her four hundred and ten naira was recovered while the children she stole and she was about to embark in the Borno express vehicle are safe and healthy and are united with their parents".

"She escorted me to the station and I got into a car from Maiduguri. When I arrived, I went to the Monday market where I picked out these three children.

"She said I shouldn't tell anyone, not even my husband, if I tell anyone, I'm going to die".

“She has so many shops in the market, I met her when I went to buy things for my kids, she said you can speak Hausa and I said yes. She now said I going to help change your life because I've helped a lot of people"

“She has now asked me to come and meet her, she has a thing for this change that the way I met her is Lady B, we are staying in the same market in Lagos,” a- she added.

CP Umar also said that the command managed to arrest 59 other criminals in different places in the state.
