The statement reads in part as follows: "The Nigeria Police Force wishes to inform well-meaning members of the public that it has not commenced the recruitment of constables in 2022 into the Nigeria Police Force , contrary to a posting on page 21 of the Daily Sun on Thursday August 11, 2022 by the Police Services Board.

"Police also unequivocally state that the advertisement has no connection with the Nigerian Police Force and is not in tandem with the police recruitment process, and should be disregarded in its entirety.The website to which the publication refers to potential candidates is not associated with the Nigerian Police.

"Nigeria Police hereby appeals to all stakeholders and potential candidates to minimize the information contained in the newspaper and on the portal as the website is not the official recruitment portal police officers."
