Police neutralize two notorious bandits and recover weapons in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has shot and killed two notorious bandits who are terrorizing the state.

The State Police Command also recovered a rifle and ammunition from the bandits.

DSP Mohammed Jalige, Spokesperson for the State Command, explained in a statement: "The command had received information at around 08:00 on 12 October 2022 that heavily armed bandits in large numbers had been sighted around from Idasso area to Kidandan in Galadimawa district of Giwa LGA on a mission to commit atrocities against law-abiding citizens."

He further explained that upon receiving the information, the Command immediately mobilized a nearby elite squad to advance to the scene to thwart their nefarious mission.

The PPRO said resisting officers, upon arriving in the area, engaged the bandits in a fierce firefight and managed to incapacitate two bandits while others escaped with varying degrees of gunshot wounds.< /p>

The statement indicates that an immediate search of the surrounding area yielded an AK49 rifle loaded with 24 rounds of live ammunition and a bandit's operational motorcycle.

According to the statement, a kidnapped victim, Yusuf Dahiru, male, 65, was also rescued unharmed, noting that officers are currently combing the general area to apprehend the fleeing band of marauders.

He said the Commissioner of Police appreciates the sacrifice that officers and men in command continue to make daily to restore public order and normalcy to our state.

The Commissioner of Police, the statement said, also instructed them to continue to work in close synergy with other security agencies and build on the trust of the general public to deliver on their mandate of securing the public space.

The statement explained that in the meantime, members of the public in the area have been instructed to report anyone with gunshot wounds to the nearest security formation.
