According to him, police personnel on duty both at the station and at the banks quickly recovered from the sudden attack and bravely repelled the attackers who were forced to flee: some into nearby bushes , others with their vehicles.

Aya explained that the thugs had abandoned three vehicles used for the operation in their haste to flee, while some of them were already wounded by bullets.

He said he was optimistic that the recovered vehicles would aid in the investigation of the crime.

He said that the Commissioner of Police had ordered the deployment of additional operational assets made up of officers from the Police Mobile Force, the Counter-Terrorism Unit, the Rapid Response Unit and the state intelligence office in synergy with other security agencies to restore normality in the region. .
