Police seize ammo cache from commercial bus

Lagos Police seized a large cache of ammunition from two commercial buses and arrested three people found with the shipment.

State Police Spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the seizure and arrest in a statement he released on Saturday.

Mr. Hundeyin said police officers from Ikorodu Division who intercepted the ammunition also discovered three disassembled motorcycles and personal effects in the two buses.

He said the interception was made at Poromope Estate, Ijede Road in Ikorodu area of ​​Lagos.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects, Tukur Abdullah, 35, Muazu Telim, 50, and Dahiru Idris, 36, were on their way to Katsina State with the ammunition.

"The suspects, exhibits and vehicles have been transferred to Lagos State Command Headquarters, Ikeja for further investigation," Hundeyin said. (NAN)
