Taraba State residents and political actors have expressed their joy at the release of a former state governor from prison, Reverend Jolly Nyame and his Plateau State counterpart, Mr. Joshua Dariye, following the amnesty granted to them by President Muhammadu Buhari.< /p>

“The members of the APC in Taraba hereby express their gratitude to the Federal Government and to all those who in one way or another played a vital role in bringing the saga to an end,” said he said.

"As a party, we believe that the release of our leader at this critical political time gives real hope for a new united Taraba, with responsible leadership," he said.

According to him, the party and gubernatorial candidate, Senator Bwacha, are eagerly awaiting Nyame's arrival to reunite with his family and fill the leadership void that has frustrated and held back the development of the state in recent years.

''We further call on the people of the state to continue to pray for peace and tranquility as we face the election period.

Similarly, Mr. Andy Teran, Publicity Secretary of the Taraba State People's Democratic Party (PDP), told the Nigerian Tribune that the party joined other well-meaning people in celebrating the release of Nyame.

Teran also told the Nigerian Tribune that the party believed Nyame would use his experience as a former governor of the state to team up with the state government to take the state to greater heights. vertices.

Furthermore, a university professor, Dr. Amos Jev from the Department of Public Administration at Taraba State University, Jalingo, said that with the volume of corruption in the country right now, it was unfair to keep only Dariye and Nyame in prison. .

Jev, however, praised President Buhari for the amnesty granted to the two former governors.
