Preston's Guild Hall has suffered another setback when it reopens due to fears of collapse over concrete issues, the city council has said.
The Great Hall and Charter Theater will be secured while structural engineers investigate whether they are “present in the roof panels”.
Schools and other buildings have were closed after the discovery of autoclaved reinforced cellular concrete (Raac).
Several cinemas were also closed for security reasons.
The municipal council of Preston said "Raac is believed to be present on the roof." A spokesperson said: "We are taking a cautious and safe approach. primarily' securing the Great Hall and Charter Theater Hall, until specialist structural engineering consultants can carry out a more detailed inspection.
"Unfortunately, we understand that this may take some time, as the experts required to carry out this very special type of work naturally prioritize school inspections."< /p>
The ground floor commercial units and Harris Library remain open...
