QSI, owner of PSG, acquires a minority stake in Braga

Paris Saint-Germain owners Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) have acquired a minority stake in Portuguese club Braga.

QSI has made PSG a European heavyweight since taking over in 2011, a period in which the Ligue 1 giants won 29 trophies.

The Doha-based organization announced on Monday that it has purchased 21.67% of Braga's share capital, with the deal expected to be certified in the coming months.

Braga's best result in the Primeira Liga came in the 2009-10 campaign when they finished second to Benfica.

They are European regulars, having played in the Europa League group stage in seven of the last eight seasons and reached the final in 2011.

Braga finished fourth in the Portuguese top flight last season, behind powerhouses Porto, Sporting CP and Benfica, and are third after nine games in the current campaign.
