Ranking of the 12 Chelsea players at the World Cup: Ziyech, Pulisic, Mount...

Chelsea had 12 players at the 2022 World Cup and we took a closer look at all of their performances throughout the tournament.

The World Cup has caused a lot of upheaval so far and several Chelsea players have been at the center of the drama we have seen unfold.

We've rounded up Chelsea's 12 players in Qatar and ranked them from worst to best. Note that we have not included players currently on loan from Chelsea, such as Romelu Lukaku.

12. Conor Gallagher (England)

Because Gallagher is the only player on the roster not to have entered the field, he is the obvious choice for the final spot.

Gallagher has been a somewhat surprising inclusion in Gareth Southgate's squad, considering he's been in and out of the Chelsea squad this season. Being only 22 years old, we are sure that his time will come in the future.

11. Denis Zakaria (Switzerland)

Zakaria hasn't played much at club level this year and he hasn't spent much time on the pitch at the World Cup either. He made two second-half appearances for Switzerland and played a total of 57 minutes.

He was also on the pitch when Portugal crushed their team 6-1, which was their last game of the tournament.

10. Edouard Mendy (Senegal)

Mendy didn't have his best tournament this time around. He probably could have done better for the two goals he conceded against the Netherlands and his tournament ended when England beat him on three.

9. Mason Mount (England)

Mount started in England's opening two games against Iran and the United States, but he failed to find his groove. The Chelsea midfielder lost his midfield spot to Jordan Henderson and then struggled to get it back.

To be fair to Mount, he won England's second penalty against France, but he struggled largely to make an impact at this World Cup.

8. Cesar Azpilicueta (Spain)

Spain's World Cup campaign ended in humiliating fashion as they lost back-to-back matches against Japan and Morocco to withdraw from the World Cup in the Round of 16.

To be fair to Azpilicueta, everything seemed to go wrong for Spain after eliminating them against Japan. He assisted Alvaro Morata's goal in the first half and was later replaced by Dani Carvajal before Japan made their comeback.

7. Raheem Sterling (England)

Sterling started the tournament well for England and netted a goal and an assist against Iran in their opener. Unfortunately for Sterling, his tournament peaked at that point.

Former Man City team-mate Phil Foden quickly moved into his place on the left side and the Chelsea winger had to return to the UK for family reasons before making a brief appearance against France.

6. Kalidou Koulibaly (Senegal)

Senegal knew they had to beat Ecuador to qualify for the knockout stages and Koulibaly was there for his country when it mattered most.

The Chelsea defender scored the winning goal to make it 2-1 in the 70th minute with a fine finish that saw Senegal exit Group A.

5. Thiago Silva (Brazil)

Brazil have conceded just two goals in the five matches they have played at the World Cup, so Silva cannot be held responsible for his early exit.

The 38-year-old even picked up an assist in Brazil's 4-1 hammering away against South Korea. He didn't have the chance to take a penalty as Brazil lost to Croatia on penalties.

4. Kai Havertz (Germany)

Havertz played a starring role in Germany's 4-2 victory over Costa Rica, but by then the damage had already been done. He won the player of the match award for his brace, but it probably wasn't very...
