She said, "We say we lack leaders, but maybe that's because most of our leaders are driven by leadership without sufficient preparations in terms of adequate knowledge on various aspects of life, which of course can only be derived from a thorough reading.

"Such leaders are doomed because you can't give what you don't have. The technical know-how to solve the nation's problems is found in books, but we don't want to read books. Parents don't see the correlation between reading and leadership or even success in life. But it's the knowledge from books that will prepare their minds for future leadership.

Speaking on the topic "The relationship between public speaking and leadership", the director of training at the National Broadcast Academy in Lagos, Dr. Ayodele Aliyu, said that 'a leader must, through public speaking, be able to move people to action, show your followers your feelings and lead by example.
