In addition to announcing the slight delay of its Pine Star64 RISC-V single board computer. Pine64 engineers also unveiled the PineBuds Pro wireless headphones. Originally unveiled as an April Fool's joke earlier this year, the company has now designed and created the first-ever pair of in-ear wine headphones with ambient sound transmission in the form of a transparency.

"Each earbud has a two-tone black finish, 3 microphones on each earbud, a set of replaceable silicone tips, and touch controls. They also sport a small PINE64 pinecone logo on the control surface tactile, which we hope strikes a balance between discretion and a sense of bud ownership in the PINE64 product line.

"The charging cradle features a two-tone finish similar to headphones, a sliding cover, an LED battery status indicator as well as a USB-C port. The external part of the chassis is glossy while the inner part is more matte. The top of the sliding cover is branded PINE64, while detailed product information is on the bottom of the crib cover. I think the photos linked below speak for themselves themselves."

"The PineBuds Pro were designed to 'just work' for those who simply want a pair of wireless IEMs while giving hackers and DIYers everything they need right out of the box. has a built-in pass-through for the UART used for flashing firmware."
