Reasons you'll stay broke as an adult

As an adult who aims and dreams of being better and being confident enough to use money, there are a few reasons you might be broke.

You have lots of things you need money for, but you're broke. And you wonder why? You will know why if you read on.

1. You're too laid back

You are likely to stay broke as an adult because you are not proactive. You want money to fall into your lap, or someone contacting you out of nowhere to send you money you haven't worked for.

You're not hungry, and you sit down. You desire to be rich, but you do nothing. You are too comfortable in this position. You are not passionate. You've become too comfortable to go out and change the narrative. You can't stand a little discomfort to change things. You don't seize opportunities. You make more excuses than you would like to make money. You are right there. No passion, no hunger, no anger (at your current state), no deep emotions; you are just comfortable.

2. You don't value your time

You don't take your time into account. You don't even value your time. Time is an important factor in life and how you use or use it will determine the trajectory of your life. As an adult, you can stay broke for a long time. You spend time watching movies on a smartphone or some gadget that could earn you money. You play video games, sleep all the time, and literally hang out.

3. You are everywhere

You are in so many areas at the same time. Not that you really understand what it's really about. Don't get me wrong, you can be in more than one business and excel at it. But you get into all these things half-baked, so you can't bring your A game to any of them. You're doing too many things and you can't focus on them like you should. Sometimes it translates to you being busy doing so many things and doing nothing.

No one will pay for what you have to offer if it has no value.

4. You don't have a skill

In this world that has now become a global village, you need a skill to thrive. A skill that you will perfect and which will earn you money in return. You sleep on opportunities to learn because you are laid back and prefer to be spoon-fed rather than take responsibility.

Pick a skill, learn and learn, and implement it as you learn. Let yourself be taught by people who are experts in the field you have chosen.

5. You are not teachable

The reason you're broke is because you're not teachable. You act like you know everything and won't take any corrections. You will not allow those who have gone before you to show you the way. Then you start making mistakes and taking wrong actions that could cost you dearly. You need advice as an adult whose desire is to end bankruptcy forever.

6. Reckless spender

You are a reckless spender. Every money you get is for fun. No saving, no investing, no planning to set aside for the purpose of multiplying it.

Once the money gets into your hands, you start to have cravings and the desire to buy things you never thought of buying starts to happen.

You spend it all on unrealistic cravings and frivolous pursuits. As an adult, you risk staying broke if you continually spend recklessly, always buying things you don't need and can live without. These are things you'll be better off without if you save some money instead.

7. You do not act, but you are well informed

You attend seminars, you read books, you gain so much knowledge and yet you do nothing. You can be compared to a farmer who has the necessary tools and implements to work and grow the crop, but you just laze around while boasting that you have them. However, no one can tell the difference because you are not using them.

People will see results when you put your knowledge to use and they will pay for the value you have to offer.
