S&P 500 down 2%; Mobilicom shares a higher peak

US stocks traded lower towards the end of the session as the Nasdaq Composite fell more than 2% on Tuesday.

The Dow fell 2.06% to 33,129.04 while the NASDAQ fell 2.39% to 11,506.10. The S&P 500 also fell 2.05% to 3,995.66.

Leading and Lagging Sectors Energy shares rose about 0.1% on Tuesday. Meanwhile, top sector gainers included Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. HLX, up 15%, and StealthGas Inc. GASS, up 5%. In Tuesday's trading, consumer discretionary stocks fell 2.8%.

The S&P Global manufacturing PMI for the United States rose to 47.8 in February from 46.9 the previous month, while the composite PMI climbed to 50.2 in February from 46.8 the previous month.

Shares of Harbor Custom Development, Inc. HCDI jumped 57% to $0.55 after the company announced it had agreed to sell Crossing Townhomes mills for $14.25 million. The shares of Arbe Robotics Ltd. ARBE rose 49% to $6.50. Arbe Robotics is expected to release its fourth quarter financial results on Thursday, March 2, 2023. Shares of Mobilicom Limited MOB also rose, gaining 43% to $2.21 after the company announced it had entered into a strategic partnership with Mistral, a US Department of Defense prime contractor.

Stock trading down Aileron Therapeutics, Inc. ALRN shares fell 45% to $1.30 after the company announced the end of the Phase 1b breast cancer chemoprotection trial and the exploration of strategic alternatives . Shares of CVRx, Inc. CVRX fell 50% to $8.52 after the company announced preliminary results from the BeAT-HF post-marketing randomized clinical trial. eFFECTOR Therapeutics, Inc. EFTR fell 20% to $0.5055 after the company announced top results from its Phase 1b clinical trial of zotatifine for COVID-19 infection.

Silver fell 0.6% to $21.84 on Tuesday, while copper rose 2.6% to $4.2140.

European stocks were down today. The Eurozone STOXX 600 fell 0.19%, London's FTSE 100 fell 0.46% while Spain's IBEX 35 index fell 0.31%. Germany's DAX fell 0.52%, France's CAC 40 fell 0.37% and Italy's FTSE MIB fell 0.68%.
