Newly promoted La Liga side Almeria have been given a boost by the arrival of Nigerian international Sadiq Umar, following the striker's return in the club's pre-season ahead of the season 2022/23, reports PUNCH Sports Extra.< /p>

In a video posted by the club on their Twitter, Sadiq was seen training with his teammates.

The striker, who had previously trained alone in the gym since his affair with the Rojiblancos, joined the full squad session on Wednesday.

Almeria began their pre-season preparations on Saturday with the Super Eagles striker missing, fueling speculation the player may have played his last game for the club after helping them seal promotion to the top flight.

The club, however, confirmed that Sadiq was absent from training after being granted an extended leave after taking part in Nigeria's AFCON qualifiers.

The 24-year-old striker was part of the Eagles side that beat Sierra Leone 2-1 and crushed Sao Tome and Principe 10-0 in the European Cup qualifiers Africa Nations 2023 in early June.

After two incredible seasons at the Mediterranean Games Stadium, the former Roma player's future with the Rojiblancos is uncertain, linked to a departure from the club.

Sevilla, Real Betis and Villarreal are some of the Spanish clubs interested in the Nigerian's service, with Almeria expecting 20 million euros for one of their most prized players.< /p>

During the 2021/22 season, Sadiq scored 18 league goals as Almeria secured promotion to La Liga.
