For National Small Business Week, let's recognize the tenacity and courage of Main Street businesses across the country. They are the backbone of our economy and the lifeblood of our communities. Small businesses account for nearly 40% of the nation's GDP and create about two-thirds of all new jobs, employing nearly half of all private sector workers in the United States.

In a rapidly changing world, it's adapt or die. And now more than ever, small businesses are facing this reality with a host of new hurdles ahead of them. Starting with the slow recovery from the pandemic, to the resulting labor shortage among hourly workers, to rapidly rising inflation, to an impending recession. And to top it off, competition from big business has never been fiercer.
