Soludo denies plotting to assassinate Peter Obi after Nigerian elections

Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has denied the allegation linking him to a plot on the life of Peter Obi.

The businessman and former governor of Anambra is the presidential candidate of the Labor Party, LP.

A viral post on social media alleged that the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria was hired to take out Obi.

Reports indicate that a helicopter entered Awka at 1:30 a.m. and took Soludo to a secret meeting at the Imo government headquarters in Owerri.

"The agenda is Obi and how to physically, politically and otherwise arrest him. Soludo received $5 million and Soludo promised to eliminate Peter Obi..." he claimed.

On Monday in Awka, Soludo press secretary Chris Aburime said the governor would never agree to harm a legitimate citizen.

The spokesperson said that despite the political differences, Soludo was a brother and friend of Obi as well as "the father of all".

“He has a good heart towards everyone. I am surprised that people can concoct this type of blackmail against him,” quotes NAN.

"There isn't an iota of truth...he didn't go to Owerri and wasn't offered money to hurt anyone, not even his brother , an illustrious son of Anambra."

Aburime said the governor wished the LP standard-bearer good luck and appreciated Anambra voters “for overwhelmingly supporting him.”

The aide recalled that Soludo predicted Obi's victory in the state, adding that the calm atmosphere during the election "says a lot" about his peaceful nature.
