State-sponsored Chinese AI firm launches bot service to 'surpass' ChatGPT

Chinese tech company iFlytek recently made waves with the launch of its "Spark Model", an AI system which, according to it will surpass ChatGPT by the end of the year.

A Chinese state-funded artificial intelligence (AI) company recently announced the launch of "Spark Model", an AI system designed to directly compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT.

The launch by the company, iFlytek, took place at a technology event in Hefei called "Spark Desk" and featured a full demonstration of the new system's capabilities.

According to a translation provided by Bing, iFlytek founder and chairman Liu Qingfeng told attendees at the event that the Spark model, also known as the "grand cognitive model", represented "the dawn of general artificial intelligence".
