Senator Ted Cruz says Jon Stewart got it all wrong... he supports veterans, but wasn't ready to support the bill that just went up in flames... saying the Democrats were to blame cheap stuff that would cost taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars.
We hosted the Texas senator Thursday at Reagan National Airport and asked about the GOP's opposition to PACT, a bill designed to expand health care coverage for veterans exposed to burns and other toxins while on duty.

Jon Stewart went nuclear against Republicans, especially Sen. Pat Toomey, after the PACT bill was shot down... calling him a "F*****g coward" for voting against the bill. law.
Cruz says he actually supports the PACT Act — despite voting against it — because he says Democrats were using it as a vessel to spend a lot more over the next ten years. This is getting super technical, but Cruz thinks the bill would open the door for Democrats to spend another $400 billion on programs unrelated to veterans. That's definitely not how Democrats and veterans groups see it.
