Ten Hag reveals January and summer transfer plans in the works before Man Utd 'attack'

Erik Ten Hag has no intention of taking a break during Manchester United's upcoming fixture break.

With the Premier League clash against Leeds this weekend postponed and then a break for international matches, United have no game until their derby trip to Manchester City on October 2.

United concluded the period with a comfortable 2-0 win over Sheriff Tiraspol in their Europa League group stage in Moldova on Thursday.

"You always use breaks," said Ten Hag, whose side had won four Premier League games in a row before last week's game at Crystal Palace was postponed following the Queen's death.

"We have many meetings, we need to improve the structures in and around the club. We will.

"We will also be looking towards the window in January or next summer already and also to improve the way we play by making plans."

The game against City will be the first of 13 matches in the space of 43 days for United before top-flight domestic football ends for the World Cup.

Ten Hag added on MUTV: "Of course it happens, a period with a game every three days and we have to prepare for it.

"The players, 90% are absent, but the others, we will train them properly. We have to prepare very well.

"Then hopefully everyone stays fit, comes back healthy, and then we have to attack."

United had little trouble against the Moldovan champions in Chisinau as the game was moved to the capital for security reasons.

Jadon Sancho responded to the news that he had been left out of England's last squad by opening the scoring after 17 minutes.

Sancho then had a clear effort down the line before Cristiano Ronaldo clinched victory with his first goal of the season, from the penalty spot.

The win was United's first in the competition after losing in their Group E opener to Real Sociedad last week.

Defender Lisandro Martinez, who partnered Raphael Varane at full-back, said: "We had to win because we needed the three points. It was very important for us.

"Sancho scored a fantastic goal and we know how important Cristiano Ronaldo's goals are."
