Terraform Labs faces a "big hill to climb" as frequent accusations against Do Kwon constantly impede the progress of its various projects in development, according to Terra's new interim CEO, Chris Amani.

During a July 20 Twitter space titled A Terra Community Talk, Amani joined several Terra employees to discuss upcoming challenges for Terra. This came shortly after Amani was named Terra's new CEO, while former CEO Kwon continued to battle legal issues.

He noted that the frequent allegations against Kwon — currently in a prison cell in Montenegro and facing extradition to South Korea or the United States — broke the momentum Terra had recently created.

"Every time we made a little progress, there was an accusation or something that derailed us."

On June 19, Cointelegraph reported that Kwon was found guilty of attempting to leave Montenegro using a fake Costa Rican passport. He was sentenced to four months in prison despite allegedly telling the court that he was unaware that the passport had been tampered with.

Amani commented on Kwon's situation, saying it's "incredibly difficult" to watch what he's going through right now, expressing his hope that Kwon's name will be cleared so he can "come back and participate" as soon as possible.

As for current Terra developments, Amani revealed that there are "maybe nine" different projects at different levels of development that will be released over the next few months.
