Thanks Rangers': Aribo writes farewell message ahead of Southampton move

Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo has written an emotional farewell message to Rangers and his fans ahead of his high-profile transfer to Premier League side Southampton.

Aribo, via his official Twitter account, on Saturday thanked everyone who made his time at Rangers memorable, although he admitted he has become a better player with Gers.

The Nigerian midfielder, just a few steps away from joining the Premier League, wrote: "It has been an amazing journey to be part of this special club. I hold Rangers FC very close to my heart as they keep me gave me the opportunity to show my talent on a bigger stage."

Among other things, Aribo said he felt accomplished helping Rangers to their historic 55th title and he says that and other memories will be taken away to his new destination.

“I am happy to have been able to play a part in the historic season of winning 55 titles. I would like to thank everyone associated with this great club for everything you have done for me during my time here”, added Aribo.

According to respected Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, Aribo has completed his medical and an official deal is expected to be announced by the Saints for Aribo very soon.

On his official Twitter account, Romano wrote on Friday: “Medical tests are underway for Joe Aribo ahead of his move to Southampton, all to be completed and signed for today afternoon.
