Oliseh relishes role as FIFA technical expert

Former Super Eagles manager Sunday Oliseh is delighted to be among FIFA's technical experts for the World Cup in Qatar alongside former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and of four other legends.

FIFA appointed the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder in October as a technical expert for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar which kicks off today in Qatar and runs until December 18.

Oliseh will be one of Nigeria's representatives at the World Cup despite the Eagles' failure to qualify for the world's biggest soccer event in Qatar.

The 48-year-old took to his Twitter account to reveal FIFA's technical expert photos for the World Cup in Qatar.

"Meet the 6 Technical Experts in Qatar, brought together by FIFA Worldwide to bring you Enhanced Football Intelligence (EFI's) of every match under the guidance of "Sir" Arsene Wenger; (Jurgen) Klinsmann, (Alberto ) Zaccheroni, Cha Bum-kun, Oliseh, (Faryd) Mondragon and (Andrés González Jaen) Zubi. You can get live podcasts after every FIFA game."

Oliseh's task will include analyzing matches, detecting technical excellence and recording the latest advancements and developments in games.

Oliseh played for nine years in different age teams in the Nigerian national team. He was part of the Nigerian U-23 team that won a gold medal in the soccer event at the Atlanta 96 Olympics.

The former midfielder was also a member of the Eagles team that won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia. He also played for Nigeria in two World Cups.

Between 2015 and 2016 he was appointed coach of the Super Eagles.
