The 10 highest paid Premier League players in 2022-23: Ronaldo, Salah...

The Premier League is known as the richest in world football, and players from Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United earn some of the highest salaries.

With each club receiving hundreds of millions of dollars in TV money, Premier League footballers are extremely well paid and many of Europe's highest paid footballers ply their trade in England.

We've done some research and, courtesy of Capology, we've identified the 10 Premier League stars with the highest weekly wages at the start of the 2022-23 season.

10. Kalidou Koulibaly (Chelsea, £295,000)

Koulibaly has finally arrived in the Premier League after years as a semi-mystical rumored fixture and Chelsea are paying him a salary worthy of his world-class status.

Following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel moved quickly to sign the centre-back from Napoli and he will wear John Terry's old No.26 shirt. 9. Jack Grealish (Man City, £300,000)

England's great white prospect - summer 2021 version - endured a disappointing first season at Manchester City following his £100million move from Villa.

But Grealish remains a player of immense quality, capable of beating his man and delivering incisive passes, and many observers expect him to come closer to his abilities in 2022-23.

“Jack is a number 10,” former City winger Trevor Sinclair told talkSPORT. "He's one of those star players who gets the fans up and excited and we didn't see enough of that last season.

"We saw him against Real Madrid in the game where he came off the bench and was great, and I thought that should have been the catalyst to make him think he's good enough this upcoming season and that it has really taken off.

"The season starts this week and I really hope he replicates what we saw him do at Aston Villa."

8. Raheem Sterling (Chelsea, £325,000)

It's no surprise that Chelsea are paying £325,000 a week; City's summer signing represents an upgrade to their existing attacking options and is one of the best attackers around.

7. Raphael Varane (Man Utd, £340,000)

Varane's quality has never been in doubt - no one has four Champions League gold medals besides winning the World Cup without being able to hit a straight ball - but injuries have made his first season at United unforgettable.

And, with the signing of Lisandro Martinez and Erik ten Hag publicly backing Harry Maguire, Varane at £340,000 a week could find himself the odd man in United's backline.

=5. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool, £350,000)

After a contract stalemate that threatened to overshadow Liverpool's season, Salah has signed a new contract until 2025 which makes him the highest paid player in the club's history.

"At the end of the season, maybe from April until the end, there was a lot of talk about (his) contract and all that," said Virgil van Dijk
