'Boldness and Right': Woman Climbs Out of McDonald's Window After Employees Told Her She Couldn't Get Food

For some people, being hungry late at night and finding out that the drive-thru is no longer serving food can seem like the end of the world.

For a woman in a drive-thru, the only option to combat this seemed to be to go back up there and take matters into her own hands.

In a viral TikTok taken by a McDonald's employee, a woman in a pink dress can be seen visibly agitated standing outside the drive-thru talking to the handful of employees behind the window.

"Lady is climbing out the window of McDonald's because we're not taking orders anymore because we don't have gloves," TikTok user @greergreer captioned the video.

The woman then climbs up behind the window into the kitchen and begins to cheer as the employees go wild as she tells them she is ready to begin her "training".

"It's my first day of practice and I came dressed unethically," the woman says, donning a pink dress and a pair of heels.

She continues to dance and clap in the video which has since been viewed over 682,000 times and garnered many comments from users.

“Boldness and righteousness though,” commented one user.

"I don't know what kind of Karen this is...but this is my favorite kind of Karen," joked another.

While employees at this particular TikTok laughed with her, many other players in the fast food industry had less pleasant interactions.

A 2021 Black Box Intelligence survey of the restaurant industry found that 62% of workers said they had experienced emotional abuse and disrespect from customers and 15% of people respondents said they had left the industry in the past year.

Amid the pandemic, millions of restaurant workers have been laid off or furloughed and the industry is still struggling to return to steady employment levels.

Data from the National Restaurant Association shows that over the six-month period between October 2021 and March 2022, unfilled job openings in the industry exceeded new hires by an average of 500,000 each month.

McDonald's itself appears to be doing quite well, noting that the company's 2021 employee count has actually increased despite the industry trend.

The company was up about 7.3% year-over-year late Wednesday afternoon.
