Egypt's largest family DIY festival kicks off

It is difficult for an individual to look back in 2020 and expect what may possibly happen in the next couple of years. Even harder to reflect on the past and never mention COVID these days! But proving German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche's adage that "what doesn't kill me makes me stronger", the world has moved on, and here we are at the 2022 finale, with Maker Faire Cairo, organized by San3a Tech in collaboration with the US Embassy and the American Center in Cairo, like the perfect last bite, on repeat!
Reflecting on Maker Faire Cairo 2020; the latest in-person version of the event, the mood was radiant. Everyone was excited to work on the next version. A few weeks later, a global pandemic occurred and everything was dramatically skewed. The team behind MFC hasn't given up on making it work through an online edition of the event. However, working on an online edition of such a social event that depends on people coming together was not an easy mission, but eventually the event came to life in the best possible way and fueled the entire team behind MFC with enthusiasm, envy and hope for future releases!
2022 is the first year for Maker Faire Cairo to go offline after the pandemic and it's already bouncing to a whole new level of setup! “We are all makers” is the slogan of Maker Faire Cairo, focused on families and young people. As a result, 12 different zones have been introduced to cover almost all interests related to Eg's biggest family DIY festival...
