The case of Tinubu (6), By Sunday Adelaja

Many accuse Tinubu of corruption, which I can only say if the courts find him guilty of this crime. If the Obasanjo government which hated him with a passion could not condemn him for corruption, then I will not join those who spread these rumors. We must remember that the most respected anti-corruption lawyer in Nigeria to date is Nuhu Ribadu, but this same person said that he could not implicate him in any crime, even if Obasanjo had given him the task of 'investigate Tinubu.

If Tinubu is so bad, why are you eating the fruits of his labor

In this presidential race, especially in the primaries stage, many governors and former governors have participated, but none of their states are famous or known for their leadership. You cannot find any trace of excellence after their rule over these states for four or eight years. You can't say that about Tinubu; his footsteps and footprints are everywhere in Lagos as we speak. In fact, even his opponents who were former governors left their states to settle in Lagos. The question is why they couldn't make their own states as good as Lagos when they were governors there. After their leadership, there are always stories of misfortune and tears, banditry and kidnappings, which they quickly reject on their successors.

In fact, most of Tinubu's harshest critics are people who appreciate what Tinubu has built in Lagos. They never think for once of gratefully acknowledging the hard work of the man who provided them with the opportunities they couldn't get in their home country. If it were that easy, every other state would be as good as Lagos or even better, especially bearing in mind that no Nigerian state faces such daunting challenges as Lagos faces every day. This is a clear indication that Tinubu possesses exceptional leadership qualities that Nigeria beckons him to bring to bear on his affairs at this time.

After returning to Nigeria in 1983, Bola Tinubu joined Mobil Oil Nigeria and later became an executive of the company. Stories are still being told of the excellent leadership that Tinubu brought to Mobil Oil until today. He was recognized by the Nigerian and American leaders of the company, not only as an excellent leader, but also as a revolutionary. If you are looking for the secret of Lagos de Tinubu, here it is. Some would argue that Lagos is so great today simply because it was once the national capital. Oh no! I hope my memories of Lagos from the earlier 1990s have given you a picture of how the state was after the capital moved to Abuja, it was a forgotten city, totally abandoned, with streets littered with dead bodies lying there for weeks with no one caring anything about the situation until Tinubu came on stage.

The US government has also come out to say that Tinubu has been cleared of all criminal matters alleged against him. This was published in the Vanguard on February 23, 2003. Meanwhile, there is one of the presidential candidates who goes by the nickname Mr Integrity, while this same man, in his own words on video, admitted to investing state government money in his family business when he was state governor.

Lagos was the most precarious city-state in Africa, it woke up with 50 new corpses on the streets, with no one removing them. If you think Lagos still has nothing to write...
