25 people were arrested across Germany on Wednesday in connection with a plot to overthrow the government.

Germany's federal prosecutor, according to news reports, said the 25 were supporters of the far-right group, the Reichsbuerger movement, which planned to storm parliament by force to install a prince as national leader who had asked for support from Russia.< /p>

Russia, however, has denied any involvement in the plot.

Around 3,000 officers carried out raids on 130 locations in 11 German federal states against supporters of the so-called Reich Citizens' Movement.

About 22 of those arrested were German citizens and were suspected of “belonging to a terrorist organization”, while three others allegedly supported the organization, including a Russian citizen.
