Tightened security as Abuja-Kaduna railway station resumes operations
After eight months of suspension following a terrorist attack on the railway lines, Abuja-Kaduna Railway Station finally begins operations today (Monday).
Our correspondent in Abuja who was present at the station from 7am to catch up on the resumption activities observed that there were armed police officers at the station.
The PUNCH had reported that terrorists attacked the Abuja-Kaduna train on March 28, 2022, kidnapping 168 passengers and killing eight others.
The release of victims has been done in batches since then, with the last 23 released in October.
While observing the activities at Idu Railway Station, passengers accompanied by their relatives were seen carrying luggage heading to the ticket office to obtain boarding tickets for the first train due to depart for Rigasa to Kaduna at 9.45am.< /p>
