Tinubu donates 50 million naira to displaced people in Birnin Gwari

All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has donated N50 million to internally displaced people in Birnin Gwari local government in the state from Kaduna.

He made the donation when he visited the emirate to empathize with the people over the decade-long banditry activities in the region.

The APC has told traditional leader Mallam Zubairu Jibrin 11 that he is set to end the threat once he takes office and pledged to bring hope to Nigerians.

He donated N5Om to victims of banditry and other related crimes.

Meanwhile, the Emirate of Birnin-Gwari Progressive Union (BEPU) appreciates the visit of the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shattima, to the Palace of the Emir in Birnin-Gwari to empathize with people on the impact of insecurity in the community.

In a statement issued by the Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), Ishaq Usman Kasai and made available to Kaduna journalists on Tuesday recalls that a similar visit was made by Mallam Nasir El-Rufai in 2015 where he promised that even if he had to move Government House to Birnin-Gwari, he would make sure to meet our security challenge.

However, according to the statement, "the security issue persists although a new commitment to resolve the issue was recently observed.

"It is in this regard that we make the following demands of the presidential candidate.

"We urgently need peace. We want him to prioritize security. For Birnin-Gwari, security is our number one and main priority.

”We all think that if our security problem is solved, half of our problem is solved. Indeed, insecurity is what paralyzes all aspects of development, be it agriculture, trade, education, health, etc.

“Reconstruction of the Birnin-Gwari/Kaduna and Birnin-Gwari/Funtua highways. These roads built since the regime of General Babangida are condemned, which makes criminals take advantage of them to attack and kidnap travelers.

"We want these roads to be rebuilt to facilitate transportation and improve business and other economic activities in the region.

“Dealing with the humanitarian crisis. Currently, we have approximately 50 internally displaced persons (IDPs). We want, if he succeeds in becoming president, to work with relevant stakeholders, especially NGOs, to address the challenges that affect displaced people.

"For example, relief materials recently obtained from NEMA by Sani Dattijo and Shattima were only shared among politicians but never reached the displaced people because relevant stakeholders were not involved .

“Combating water scarcity. Our community is facing water scarcity and nothing reasonable has been done by this outgoing administration to address it.

"We want him to work with the state government to facilitate the reconstruction of the Birnin-Gwari Dam. The dam, which is our only major source of drinking and irrigation water, has dried up about 70%. This has led to the problem of water shortage in the community.

"About 35 elementary schools were ransacked due to insecurity. As a result, some large communities became overcrowded with out-of-school children.

"It should work with the state government to ensure the reintegration of these children into schools. Also, despite its proximity nature, there is no public higher education institution in the area.

"This has made it difficult for our people to pursue higher education. In fact, many of our children have lost their lives traveling to and from schools in remote locations.

"We therefore want him to ensure the passage of the bill for the establishment of the Federal College of Forestry and Technology in Birnin-Gwari. This is to support our community in the development of education.< /p>
