Tinubu praises first female teacher of Yoruba studies

President Bola Tinubu has praised the world's first female teacher of Yoruba studies, Omotayo Olutoye, for her significant contributions to Yoruba language, culture and tradition, saying her works and fundamental interventions have contributed to deepening knowledge and understanding of Yoruba language.

Ms Olutoye died recently aged 87. She was the wife of Olufemi Olutoye, a retired Major General and Alani of Idoani, Ondo State and the mother of renowned surgeon and pediatrician Olurotimi Olutoye, Professor. She was also the Yeyeluwa of Idoani in the Ose local government area of ​​the state.

President Tinubu expressed his sympathy and condolences to the husband of the deceased, the Olutoye family and the Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
