Tinubu rallies, campaign schedule subject to change - Keyamo

Spokesman for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, said on Thursday that the newly released schedule of rallies and activities for the party's presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, is a work project that is subject to change.

Keyamo said this in a phone conversation with our correspondent after posting a revised schedule hours after the original schedule was posted.

In the calendar of activities, Tinubu is set to kick off its inaugural gathering in Jos, capital of Plateau State, on November 15.

The development comes after the party initially moved to Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state, three weeks ago after a series of postponements following negotiations and disagreements between chiefs of party, including the governors and the national working committee of the party, regarding the exclusion of their candidates from the campaign. list.

The PUNCH reported that the campaign season officially kicked off on September 28 while Tinubu was on vacation in London.

While the presidential candidates of the opposition People's Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar and the Labor Party, Peter Obi, among others, have respectively started their campaigns in different regions, their counterpart from the ruling APC prefers to continue his consultation with stakeholders.

Hours after it went viral on Thursday, APC's campaign council released an amended program of activities and schedule.

While the date of the presidential campaign rally, which officially begins in Jos on November 15, remains unchanged, a dinner with campaign bosses in Abuja has been rescheduled for November 6-8.

There will be an interfaith public assembly in Abuja on November 9 and another in Calabar three days later.

According to the revised schedule, there will be series of rallies in Delta (19), Imo (21), Adamawa (24), Ogun (26), Enugu (29) and Sokoto (30) respectively.

Between December 4 and 10, the campaign team will embark on international engagement with diaspora stakeholders.

When asked why the schedule was changed again, Keyamo told our correspondent that the schedule of events and dates is a working draft, which is still subject to further adjustments.

He said: "They are all subject to change or amendment as we progress due to human nature. No one expected the flood, for example. But it came, and all of a sudden it slows down activities and stuff.

"So this is a working draft. At least we have a draft to work with. My final comment on this is that it is Ceteris Paribus. That is, all things being equal."

On why the party changed venue from Ilorin to Jos in the space of three weeks, the minister declined to comment.

"I have no further comment on that. The reason for these decisions - we're not going to tell the public," he said.
