Transfer: Ten Hag drops Ronaldo for Atletico Madrid game
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has dropped Cristiano Ronaldo from his squad for their pre-season friendly against Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
The rest of the team has flown to Oslo, Norway, where the match will be played.
New boys Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez are among the 21 players Ten Hag took on for the match.
"Some of the squad's absentees will feature in Sunday's game against Rayo Vallecano, while others are ill or injured," a statement on United's website read.
Ten Hag's decision comes as Ronaldo is keen to leave United this summer.
The 37-year-old is desperate to give up the Red Devils for a club in contention in the Champions League.
