Transfer: You must accept £200m offer for Salah – Carragher warns Liverpool

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has told the club they cannot reject a £200m bid for Mohamed Salah.

The Reds have already turned down an offer of around £150m from Al-Ittihad.

Salah moved to Anfield in 2017 for £43million and helped Liverpool win the Premier League and Champions League titles.

Carragher, however, expressed doubts about the possibility of an agreement given the delay with which the Saudis arrived at the table.

He said on Sky Sports: 'When you look at what Harry Kane has been looking for, around £100million, and he's a year or two younger, but he only had a year to wrap up his contract with Spurs. He stays in Salah for two years, he takes very good care of him. For Liverpool to sell now, they won't want what it's worth, they'll want more than that.

“It wouldn’t be worth £150m without the Saudi market, probably closer to £100m. But why did they leave it so late? If they wanted it so badly and were willing to spend the money, why didn't they six months ago when they could have had it?

"It's up to Liverpool and Salah to decide, he may not want to go. I think even for the fans who love him and don't want him to move, if that figure continues to rise, there's a stage where they can't turn him down, and that would be £200m. >
