Transfer: Osimhen told me to sign for AC Milan - Chukwueze

Samuel Chukwueze has revealed that the Napoli striker and his international team-mate, Victor Osimhen, played a vital role in his move to AC Milan.

DAILY POST reported that the 24-year-old joined the former Serie A champions in a €20m deal plus an additional €8m on Thursday.

Speaking shortly after signing a five-year contract with the Rossoneri, Chukwueze said Osimhen told him to come to Italy, saying Milan were a very nice club and the fans were amazing.

"We [Osimhen and I] joked about it [my transfer to AC Milan] the last time we talked. He [Osimhen] said: 'Samuel, AC Milan is a very good club. They are the best club. Don't hesitate to sign with them. They are fantastic. They have good people and their fans are amazing.'

"I said, tell me how do you feel when you play against them?", and he replied, "Their fans are amazing. They are crazy about football.

"I said okay, I hope you know I'm going to win you over? And he said, 'Let's see how it goes,'" Chukwueze told Milan TV.
