U-20 WWC: We're ready to take on the world - Falconets star Onyenezide

Falconets midfielder Esther Onyenezide says the team is determined to win the first FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup title in Costa Rica.

Chris Danjuma's side are through to the quarter-finals of the competition after winning their opening two matches against France and Korea Republic.

The Falconets have been runners-up twice and have also been to the semi-finals once.

Onyenezide thinks the team can go even further this time around.

"We are a giant in Africa and fear no other team as player of the match," Onyenezide told BBC Sports.

"We've trained an incredible amount and if you think back to qualifying, we have every right to be confident here every time we play.

"We want to show the world that we are not only great in African terms, but that we can beat any other team."

The Falconets will face Canada in their final group game on Wednesday.
