Why APC won't survive 2023 – Atiku

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress party will not survive the 2023 general election.

He said the APC, which he described as an "alliance of convenience", is not a real political party and will collapse after the upcoming presidential elections in February.

He said this during the inauguration of the PDP National Youth Campaign Council in Abuja on Thursday.

The former vice president said that the PDP is the only political party in Nigeria and that the APC, which has been in power at the federal level since 2015 "is just an alliance between the CCP and the party of Tinubu".

"And we've seen how alliances die in this country," he said. "I don't think APC will survive past 2023. We're going to take them out and by the time we take them out they'll be dead."

Atiku, who was a member of the APC between February 2014 and November 2017, made more fun of the ruling party and how it has over the past seven years managed unity and resources of the country.

"We don't expect any changes in the next five or six months...PDP will give you the opportunity to be anything you want to be, regardless of your poor background. Even if Atiku leaves , another Atiku will come,” he said.

Inauguration

Atiku tasked the newly inaugurated National Youth Campaign Council, drawn from the six geopolitical zones, to take his message of hope to the nooks and crannies of their neighborhoods and local governments and inspire them with his "reset and rescue Nigeria out of Doldrums APC stands for".

In his goodwill message, PDP Vice Presidential candidate Ifeanyi Okowa said Nigeria is in distress at the hands of APC and the country desperately needs a “medical consultant in Chief” - Atiku - to be revived.

He said the task of recovering Nigeria after years of mismanagement by APC lay with Nigerian youth to make the right choice by voting in Atiku.
