Wike gives new conditions to get Rivers' votes

Despite the unity-threatening rowdiness of his party, the People's Democratic Party PDP in Rivers State, Governor Nyesom Wike boasted that more and more state politicians were quitting en masse to their political party and joined the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

He said politicians were doing it because they were happy with the infrastructural development being done by his administration and thought the PDP was a better party to partner with.

Wike bragged on Thursday at the launch of the 11th flyover project, which was carried out by former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke, at the Rumuola-Ikwerre Road-Rumuokwuta roundabout in the local government area of ​​Obio Akpor. the state.

The governor explained that the continued slump in the membership of other political parties in the state was definitely an electoral advantage for the PDP.

He said; “We have collapsed all the other parties. Every day people from the All Progressives Congress (APC) join our party. We are here doing that and some people are in Abuja; ask them how many people did they bring to the party.

“That does not mean that I support our candidate. How many people have you brought to help your candidate? "Abuja to Adamawa. Is that where you'll win the votes? Come home."

He pointed out that Rivers State is politically too strategic to be ignored by any serious politician who wants to win an election, pointing out the futility of claims by those who claim to know the PDP presidential candidate, but they don't. were not. at home where votes could be mobilized to ensure electoral victory.

“This local government alone, Obio Akpor, where I come from, we registered no less than 600,000 voters. This local government beats two states in electoral strength.

"So we're not a state you can take for granted, let alone local government where I'm from.

“I believe they have to know us here because we have what it takes to deliver. They have to come and know us. I won't find anyone. You have to come here. vote from my local government. You can't take 3.2 million votes from my state just like that," the governor said.

Wike pointed out that the days were over when supporters and the electorate offered their votes and did nothing in return.

"If we were Santa Claus before, we won't be Santa Claus anymore?" You must tell me what is there for me if I am to vote. So no one should bother. When the time is right, we will talk to our people and our people will understand.

“If you say we don't exist, we'll tell you you don't exist. I'm no one's son. I'm a son of Rivers State. Rivers State."

Governor Wike said the infrastructure projects are evidence of how Rivers' money has been spent by his administration to address critical socio-economic issues.

He noted that the 12 overflights, over the next three years, would be more appreciated as they will sufficiently solve the traffic problems stressing that everything was done to ensure that funds were available so that each project launched by his administration is not abandoned but terminated.

Running the flag, former Governor of Cross River State Donald Duke said the leadership ability shown by Governor Wike ensures there is hope for Nigeria.< /p>

Duke praised Governor Wike for delivering projects, especially the flyovers that have made Port Harcourt a livable city.

He also noted the medical help that Dr. Peter Odili's Center for Cancer Diagnostics and Cardiologists would provide to cancer patients, due to the terminal nature of the disease.
